Following curiosity again

A quieter creative chapter, and the freedom of not knowing exactly where it will lead.

For a long time, my days were shaped by the practical rhythm of running a supply business. There was always something that needed restocking, packing or answering. I am grateful for all of it—and also ready to discover what happens when I leave a little more room in the day.

The studio is quieter now. That quiet does not feel empty. It feels like space: space to notice an idea before deciding what it should become, to stay with a colour a little longer, and to make something simply because it has caught my attention.

Making room for the unfinished idea

I used to think curiosity needed a plan before it deserved time. Lately I have been trying the opposite. I begin with the material in front of me and let the work tell me what it wants next. Some experiments become earrings. Some remain on the table. Both can be useful.

I’m learning to leave enough room for the work to surprise me.

A beginning, not a conclusion

I do not have a tidy answer for what this next chapter will become. That is part of its pleasure. For now I am making, meeting women, taking photographs and paying attention to what keeps drawing me back.

  • Make time for the unfinished idea.
  • Notice what keeps asking for attention.
  • Share the discoveries along the way.
