About the Artist

Wendy

The artist, maker and creative force behind Woman in the Big Earrings—and a woman inside its story.

Woman in the Big Earrings

The project begins with Wendy, then opens outward.

Wendy creates the jewelry, makes the portraits and invites women to share glimpses of themselves. The work is personal at its centre, with room to become something shared.

Temporary photography direction Replace with a close, self-possessed portrait of Wendy wearing her own work.

A Changing Practice

The studio is quieter now. The work has more room.

After years of running a busy supply shop, Wendy is giving more attention to the creative work that keeps drawing her back: jewelry, portraits, stories and the possibilities between them.

The Woman Inside the Project

Not standing outside the frame.

Wendy belongs in the same emotional world she is creating for other women: curious, evolving, expressive and increasingly comfortable choosing what feels right now.

This is not a finished manifesto. It is the present shape of a creative practice that is still allowed to change.

Making Space

A piece of jewelry can be an invitation to be seen.

The earrings begin with Wendy’s hands. The project grows through portraits and the stories women choose to tell in their own words.

What starts with one artist may gradually become a community—one woman, one portrait and one story at a time.

Temporary close detail of sculptural earrings; replace with Wendy's hands, materials or finished work.
Temporary detail direction Wendy’s hands at work, materials in process, or a close view of a finished pair.

A Note from Wendy

Her own words should complete the portrait.

“A short reflection from Wendy belongs here: why she began Woman in the Big Earrings, what she is following now, and what she hopes another woman might feel when she encounters the project.”

This passage is intentionally not written in Wendy’s voice yet.

The Story Opens Outward

Wendy’s work makes the first space. Other women bring their own stories into it.

The project is still taking shape. Its centre is personal; its future may be shared.
